This is an 16-hour course that will you teach you basics of two useful skills – web development and web app building. The course is every Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30 to 8:30p from September 11 to October 4.

Ruby on Rails is a framework built on the Ruby programming language. It allows you to build cutting edge, modern web applications that can be easily extended and modified through custom code and extensions known as “gems”. In this course, we will utilize Rails to build a dynamic todo application that will keep track of our todos and email us when our todos are overdue. We’ll deploy our apps to the popular Heroku cloud platform and learn how to maintain them moving forward with tools like Git and Github desktop.

After taking this course you will know how to build and deploy a dynamic web application with Ruby on Rails. These skills can help you build out that idea you’ve been thinking about or add to your resume for that future programming or engineering job.
